Fic: Fairest of them all (Firefly: Zoe/Wash)

This little story has varied origins which should all be addressed here. The genesis of it came from this fic by faithinthepoor. Specifically this line, as spoken by Jayne in relation to Zoe and Wash:

“Do you think I’d be telling you ‘bout them. I don’t even like to figure on them two, she probably makes him wear a dress.”

Then I read these fics by woodsong_1978 in which Zoe and Wash make bets with each other and Zoe always wins. So that kind of crept into this story too.

Serenity is passing through an area of space that is completely controlled by religious fundamentalists. They are appalled at the fact that unmarried men and women live together abroad Serenity and are demanding that everyone on the ship (except the Shephard) get married.
