TITLE: What if?
AUTHOR: Angie
FANDOM: Wicked RPS
PAIRING: Idina/Kristin
SUMMARY: Idina and Kristin lie in bed and discuss 'Wicked'
RATING: PG-13
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way implying that this is a true representation of the 'real-people' in the story. I mean no disrespect to either actress.
WORD COUNT: 300
AUTHOR'S NOTES: Yes, the inevitable Wicked RPS has begun. Strangely, I thought if I were to start writing Idina/Kristin that it would be all sorts of fluffy. Or at least fluffy/angst. Fangst? (That sounds like Angel/Darla fic) Aaaaaanyway...this is pretty much just angst. But it is told in three 100 word drabbles. I don't know why these 100 word things are so appealing to me just now, but there you go.

“What do you think would’ve happened if Glinda had gone with Elphie?”
Idina stared at the ceiling, contemplating the question. It was loaded and dangerous and required gentle handling.
“I think...that it would’ve been really hard for both of them. Glinda would’ve had to get used to having people think badly of her. They would’ve been hounded and chased wherever they went. But they would’ve been together.”
Kristin tightened her hold around Idina’s waist, rubbing her cheek against Idina's bare shoulder, her voice barely a whisper.
“Maybe that would be enough.”
Idina smiled. She turned to meet Kristin’s lips.
“Maybe.”

“Why didn’t Glinda go with Elphaba, d’you think?”
Kristin tensed at the question. But turnaround was fair play and Idina’s eyes were intent on her face, sparkling even in the dark. Kristin looked away.
“She…she had…there were…”
“Expectations. Other people.”
“Yes.”
“So, what you’re saying is that she didn’t love Elphie enough to rise above all the bullshit.”
Kristin blanched and Idina resisted the urge to reach out and touch her, to soothe the hurt. When Kristin looked back at her, her eyes were filled with sadness. Her next words held a finality.
“Elphie had Fiyero.”
“No…”
“Yes, she did.”
*****
“D’you think Elphie would ever leave Fiyero?”
Idina sighed. Don’t ask me that, baby.
“Where would she go?”
“She could go back for Glinda.”
“How would she know Glinda would go with her this time?”
Kristin shifted so that her chin rested on Idina’s chest. She was silent for several moments, seemingly giving Glinda’s decision a great deal of consideration.
“I guess she’d just have to ask and see.”
“She’s been hurt before. Why should she always be the one to take the risks?”
Kristin laid her head down on Idina’s chest, over her heart.
“Because she’s the brave one.”
