Yay for first Inara fic and yay for the mention of Kaylee before the mention of Mal (although I have to admit that I like Inara's reaction to mentioning Mal and how quickly she shut down this line of thought).
I love the idea of little Inara, before the training and that there are things that shaped her life the meant that she was never going to be suited to life on the central planets, that she was never going to have the right priorities.
