The Asha in my head is based on this fanart that I saw before starting CoK. But I can really see Bridget Regan in the part, you're right. (Oh, and everyone on tumblr is totally right about the Wonder Woman thing too.) I don't hate the show's version of her by any means, but she's not really how I saw the character when reading, even physicality aside.
And yeah, the Margaery thing is tricky. I'm glad they had the scene with her and Renly because a.) it's AMAZING and b.) it could just be a sign that she's savvy enough to realize her brother's gay and has had years to get okay with things. But the "I want to be the queen" bit made me a little sad, because it was really showing the cards so soon. I understand that they might need to use her to crank up tensions later on, but it's still unfortunate to miss out on that great moment when you start putting the pieces together and realize she's not as innocent as Sansa -- she's actually more clever than Cersei. Greatness.
I accept that the show is its own creature but I know all these people who say they're going to read the books after and it's tragic because the books are inevitably SO MUCH BETTER. The show is still great and enjoyable even so, but man the scene where Cat captures Tyrion in the pub had me on the edge of my seat for pages and apparently for everyone I work with who only saw it on the show, it didn't strike them as particularly meaningful. Nothing more than, "Oh, I hope Tyrion's okay, but I assume he will be." For me, I was totally freaking out and convinced Catelyn was screwed so that when she turned it around like that, it seemed genuinely brilliant.
It's just tragic to miss out on half the intrigue and fun that is what MAKES the series. Poor busy people with no time to read.
The only sport related reference I made of any real importance: the woman in my icon is what Brienne looked like in my head. She's 6'5" and, despite being quite gorgeous, tends to strike people as VERY awkward the first time they see her. Big ears with her hair often pulled back so it's accentuated, very strong prominent jaw, long face, broad shoulders, and obviously a sizable nose. But she's arguably the most talented female player in her sport, with a gorgeous smile when she's not being ridiculously shy. She weaseled into my mind's version of Brienne and it was really hard to get rid of.
