AUTHOR'S NOTES 1: Based on the Twitter based Role Play known as Glitter (
the_glitter). Check out the twitter accounts of Terri and Emma.
AUTHOR'S NOTES 2: This was written for
voodoochild_101 because Terri's V-Day fic made her v sad, so I said I'd write a happier one for her. Cuz she is my Glitter!girlfriend and I don't like her to be sad.
WARNING: THIS FIC IS VERY FLUFFY. YOU MAY VOMIT.
Terri wakes up slowly to a familiar warmth at her back. She runs her hand down the soft skin of the arm that is tight around her waist and links her fingers through Emma's, squeezing gently. Emma stirs behind her and she smiles as she feels a soft kiss on her shoulder.
Terri turns over to be greeted by a sleepy smile peeking out from behind a shock of red hair. She sweeps some of it back and leans in for a slow, languid good-morning kiss, gently cradling Emma's face with her fingertips. Emma blinks as she draws away.
"Mmmmm, good morning," Emma says, voice thick with sleep.
"It is a good morning,” Terri says, kissing Emma’s nose and making her giggle. “And I think you should be prepared for it to get even better.”
Emma raises an eyebrow. A hand reaches out under the covers and runs down Terri’s bare side but Terri captures it before much progress can be made.
“No, not that,” she scolds, smirking at Emma’s exaggerated pout. “You didn’t get enough last night?”
“Enough? Of you?” Emma smiles and reaches out to stroke Terri’s cheek. “I’m pretty sure that’s not possible.”
Terri ducks her head to hide the blush that spreads across her face.
“You’re only saying because you want to get in my pants,” she jokes.
“I’m really not,” Emma says, leaning in to kiss Terri’s lips as they curl into a smile.
“Charmer,” Terri says, rolling her eyes. “So, the plan is that you’re going to stay in bed and keep it cosy, and I’m gonna make us breakfast in bed. And then we might get to that naughty stuff you’re so fond of.”
Emma nudges her.
“Hey! Don’t pretend like you don’t like the naughty stuff,” she says with a smile.
“It passes the time,” Terri agrees, and kisses Emma firmly before pushing herself up. Emma catches her wrist as she starts to walk away.
“I’ll help you with breakfast,” she says, throwing the covers back.
“No!” Terri says, a little too quickly.
Emma frowns.
“Why?”
“Because I...just want to do something nice for you today, OK?” Terri explains, running the tip of her finger down Emma’s nose.
Emma stands up and pulls Terri against her in a tight hug. She drops a kiss on her neck before burying her face there.
“You don’t have to keep making amends, you know...it’s...it’s in the past,” she murmurs against Terri’s warm skin.
Terri pulls her closer, squeezing her tightly. She pulls back, blinking a little too rapidly.
“Who said anything about amends?” she asks, playfully. “I just chose the easiest meal to prepare. You have to do lunch and dinner.”
Emma laughs but Terri’s face grows serious.
“I love you so much, more than anything...you know that, right?” she says, her voice tight.
Emma tilts her head to the side at the sudden change of demeanour.
“Of course I know that...just like you know how much I love you.”
Terri smiles.
“Good, just checking,” she says before pushing Emma back down onto the bed. “Now get back under the covers while I go make breakfast for my woman.”
Emma complies and watches Terri’s retreating back with amusement and affection.
“Hey! Put some clothes on...I don’t want you marring that body with burn marks,” Emma calls out.
Terri grabs her robe from the back of the door and turns to look at Emma while she pulls it on.
“I knew you only wanted me for my body,” she teases.
“Obviously,” Emma agrees with a smile.

When Terri returns, she’s carrying a tray which she places carefully on the bed. Emma scoots over to make room for her and surveys the contents of the tray while Terri climbs in beside her. There’s a plate of heart shaped pancakes, a pot of tea, a cup of coffee and a bottle of syrup. Emma turns and places a tiny kiss on Terri’s cheek.
“Thank you, this is lovely,” she says, smiling.
“I even brought syrup so you could write our initials on the pancakes,” Terri says, slipping an arm behind Emma and curling her hand around her hip.
“How are you going to eat with one hand?” Emma asks, picking up her fork and knife.
“You mean you’re not going to feed me? After all the effort I went to making the damn things?” Terri demands.
Emma cuts a piece of pancake and spears it on the end of her fork, holding it up to Terri’s mouth.
“Open wide,” she says.
Terri takes the morsel into her mouth, dragging her lips over the fork as she does so.
“Mmm…delicious if I do say myself,” she says, closing her eyes in exaggerated bliss.
“Which, apparently, you do,” Emma says, taking a bite of her own. “But they are very good.”
They eat in companionable silence, punctuated by occasional kisses and giggles, until the plate is empty and Emma is draining the last of her tea. Terri lifts the tray and swings her legs out of bed to stand up. Emma puts a hand flat on her back.
“Don’t go too far,” she says, scratching at Terri’s skin lightly.
Terri glances over her shoulder with a smile.
“I’m not, I’m just putting this on the floor,” she assures the redhead.
Terri stoops to place the tray next to the bed. When she stands back up, she’s holding a box which is tied with a red bow. There’s an envelope with Emma’s name written on it tucked into the ribbon. Emma raises her eyebrows.
“Oh, I didn’t think we were doing gifts now…I’l go get yo-“
“No,” Terri says, placing a hand on Emma’s shoulder to keep her from moving. “This is…just open it,” she says, climbing back into bed and settling the gift on Emma’s lap.
Emma looks over at her as she pulls the envelope out. She runs her finger under the seal, keeping her eyes locked on Terri’s. Terri is wearing an expression that Emma can’t quite read, which unsettles her more than she would like. She slides her hand into the envelope and is surprised to find several pieces of paper, rather than a card. She pulls them out and casts her eye over the first page. Her heart starts beating faster. Her eyes shift to Terri’s face again.
“Terri…this is confirmation that your divorce has been finalised,” she begins, her gaze flitting back to the document. “And it’s dated last week!”
She reaches a hand out to cover Terri’s.
“Honey, why didn’t you tell me it had come through…I wou-“
“Open the box,” Terri says, cutting her off.
Emma’s brow scrunches up in a combination of concern and confusion, but she complies with Terri’s quiet request. She tugs on the bow to release the ribbon. She lifts the lid off to reveal a second box inside. Much smaller. Kind of like the boxes that rings come in. She looks at Terri sharply.
“Terri...is this...” Emma starts..
“Open it and see what it is before you start asking questions,” Terri says, but she’s fidgeting with the edge of the comforter, clearly nervous.
Emma picks up the small box, her hands trembling so much that she almost drops it. She opens the lid to reveal a simple silver ring, with a twisted detail at the front. Emma looks up at Terri with questions in her eyes. Terri reaches over and removes the ring from the box. Emma watches as she slips her nail into a slight groove running around it and the ring separates into two bands. Terri holds them up, one in each hand.
“This is a betrothal ring...I read up on it online,” Terri explains, in a rush. “It’s like a declaration thing...two rings that fit together perfectly to make one. I know we can’t get married, legally ...so I thought that we could each wear one of these...until we can.”
Emma’s hand is covering her mouth and her eyes are brimming with tears. She blinks a few times and clears her throat, removing her hand from her face.
“Terri, are you saying that you...that you want us to...what are you saying?” Emma asks, too afraid to make the wrong assumption.
“I’m asking you to go steady with me. What the hell do you think I’m saying?” Terri snaps, before collecting herself and drawing in a shaky breath. “I’m saying that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
A sob escapes Emma’s throat as she grabs Terri’s face with both hands and kisses her. Terri’s hand comes up to cover her left one and gently pulls it away. Their lips part as Emma feels one of the rings slip onto her finger and she looks down at their joined hands.
“I took that as a yes,” Terri says, causing Emma to look up and laugh through the tears freely running down her face.
“That was most definitely, unreservedly and completely a yes,” she says, kissing Terri again and pulling back to look into her eyes. “Yes, I will spend the rest of my life with you and yes, I would marry you tomorrow if I could, and give me that other ring right now.”
Terri opens her clenched fist to reveal the other half of the ring and Emma takes it from her. She picks up Terri’s left hand.
“Terri, I’m so happy that I can’t even form thoughts right now, let alone speak coherently, so all I can say is that I love you and I never want to be without you,” she manages to get out through a throat that’s tight with emotion.
She slips the second ring onto Terri’s finger and then links their left hands together, looking at the matching rings. Emma laughs softly to herself.
“What?” Terri asks, shaking their joined hands slightly to get Emma’s attention.
Emma looks up and shakes her head.
“I’m just wondering what I’d have said a few years ago if someone had told me that this was going to happen,” she says with a lopsided smile. “That you would be the one.”
Terri smiles back, but it falters slightly.
“Listen, I’m sorry that I...kind of yelled at you when I was giving you the ring, and that I didn’t do the down on one knee thing...and that I was, well, naked...”
She trails off because Emma is shaking her head.
“I’ve had someone propose to me on bended knee, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be,” she assures Terri. “This was perfect, you were perfect. And when have I ever complained about you being naked?”
“Well, you weren’t too thrilled about me being naked that one time in your parents’ kitchen. And it was never in dispute that I was perfect,” Terri says, wrapping an arm around Emma’s shoulders and pulling her into a hug
Emma allows herself to melt into Terri’s body, her head resting on her shoulder, a hand caressing her belly.
“So...” Terri begins, conversationally. “What’d you get me? Don’t worry about it not living up to this, this was always going to be the best present ever so don’t think yours will seem lame in comparison.”
Emma smiles at the cockiness in Terri’s voice and lightly bites the top of her breast, eliciting a squeak.
“Actually, my gift kind of complements yours,” she says, leaning up on an elbow to look at Terri. “I booked us a week in Paris. So we can celebrate in style.”
Terri’s eyes are wide.
“Seriously, is that what your gift is?” she asks.
“Yes,” Emma says, content to have surprised Terri.
Terri moves suddenly, rolling on top of Emma and grinning down at her.
“You’re the best girlfriend ever!” she declares, then reconsiders. “Well, no, actually that’s me. But you’re a close second.”
Emma reaches up and holds Terri’s neck with both hands.
“Yes, that is you, and I’ll happily take second place,” she says seriously.
“Maybe we can call it a tie?” Terri says, leaning down to kiss Emma softly.
“That seems fair,” Emma agrees, pulling Terri back down for another kiss.
“So...can you speak French?” Terri asks, placing an elbow on each side of Emma’s head and resting her chin on her hands. “I’m an expert in their kissing, but the only phrase I know is ‘Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir?’”
“We can work on your vocabulary before we go, because I certainly don’t want you to be going around saying that to all and sundry,” Emma says. “But in the meantime, you don’t have to wait until ce soir before you coucher avec moi, you know.”
Terri is shaking her head, a smile gracing her lips.
“I knew it! The romantic portion of the day is over, back to the naughty stuff, right?”
“Terri?”
“What?”
“Shut up and kiss me.”
Terri grins.

I was sweet and cute (in a fluffy and horribly an angsty way!)
I do adore Terri's love of herself but I think my fav thing is that this lead to the Twitter post where someone thought you were talking about the film Glitter - I laughed my arse off over that!!!!
“I’m an expert in their kissing, but the only phrase I know is ‘Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir?’” totally my fav line as it seems so Terri to me although I have to say I am not sure that you can get away with writing about being caught in the parent's kitchen and then not give us a fic about that (I do realise that something along those lines might be on #Glitter for I know nothing of that world and do not have the time to learn it's craziness - also I secretly fear that the non-cannon would kill me.)

(If it makes you feel better, you can be on the lookout for some heavy duty angst over the next day or so. The day after Valentine's Day has been ficced...)
I am not sure that you can get away with writing about being caught in the parent's kitchen and then not give us a fic about that - That was a last minute, throwaway line and I doubt very much whether I could ever imagine what Emma's parents must be like.
(I do realise that something along those lines might be on #Glitter for I know nothing of that world - That has not happened on Glitter. And you should stay away from Glitter, it is a mad crazy world where everyone hooks up with everyone else (and Quinn and Brittany are currently in some kind of relationship they insist on calling 'Quitt') It would blow your mind. I think Terri might be the sanest person on Glitter...

I doubt very much whether I could ever imagine what Emma's parents must be like. and now I am going to have to spend an unhealthy amount of time wondering about them
And you should stay away from Glitter, it is a mad crazy world where everyone hooks up with everyone else (and Quinn and Brittany are currently in some kind of relationship they insist on calling 'Quitt') It would blow your mind. I so can not be party to such things. Delicate little cannon loving flower that I am I would not cope at all!!!!!!!!

I pretty much think Terri's mother would be like Kendra, and that her dad would be sort of like Will?

I pretty much think Terri's mother would be like Kendra, and that her dad would be sort of like Will? That sounds reasonable. I definitely think her mother would have dominated her father.

I do love this though, bb :)
Thank you :)

And hey, after that fic we wrote today, I think we're both going to need some heavy-duty fluff to recover. Not tonight though, I am drained.
And you're welcome.

I agree, you need to write a fic of the nakedness in the parents kitchen!

I would write the nekkid kitchen fic, if I had any idea of how I would write Emma's parents. But I don't. So I can't. Sorry :(

I'm afraid my Glee muse has long since moved out so it's terribly unlikely that there will be more.
Thank you, though :)
