Character: Kaylee
Rating: PG-13
Prompt: What in your life are you most proud of? (Written for [livejournal.com profile] big_damn_quests)
Word Count: 288

Well at least that’s an easy one. My girl ‘course! She’s been through a lot, like all of us. But she’s still flyin’, keepin’ us goin’, keepin’ us safe.

She holds us together, them that’s left. I thought that losin’ somebody, part of my family would be too much to bear. Wash and the Shepherd ain’t here no more, but I can still feel them when I’m on the ship.

Up on the bridge is Wash’s place. I go there to think ‘bout him. Sometimes Zoe’s there an’ we don’t speak, just sit and feel. River sits in his chair now, swears he talks to her. Don’t know if I believe that or not, but I’d sure like to think he’s out there somewhere, still helpin’ to fly Serenity.

When I stand on the ramp waitin’ for the Cap’n and Zoe comin’ back from somewhere or other, I think ‘bout the Shepherd. He had the kindest eyes I ever saw and he always made me feel safe, cuz he sounded like he knew what he was talkin’ about and that he believed we’d get through. I miss him. I never prayed all that much in my life, but I do a little now. An’ I hope he hears me when I do.

Inara stayed, after Miranda, said this was her home. I was worried maybe Zoe would leave, that it’d be too hard for her to be here, but she didn’t. An’ it’s this ship, it’s my girl that keeps them here, keeps us together.

I will always be proud of the little part I play in lookin’ after her, makin’ sure that she’s loved, so that she can keep us together for a long time to come.

Dead shipmates break my heart :(

I am pleased that Inara stayed though.

Completely off topic......When did you change your LJ's name? I hope it was only recently cause I didn't notice it until today and I don't wnat to think I am not just incredibly unobservant.

Also congrats on being Alex - I am totally going to get you a pair of glasses.

I am pleased that Inara stayed though. - Of course she stayed!!! Did you see that smile she gave Mal at the end of the movie? Despite the fact that both of them kept their tops on, that scene was infinitely deeper and more sexy than the engine room scene taking place around about the same time.

Completely off topic......When did you change your LJ's name? - Yes, very recently, yesterday I think :) I was messing around with my userinfo, which I hadn't really changed since I set up my LJ and decided a new name was in order. 'Try too hard' by Pink just happened to be playing at the time, and the lines 'Everything you feel, everything you know, you found it on your favourite TV show' seemed quite fitting for the content of my journal :)

Also congrats on being Alex - Thank you. It's rare that I end up as the people I want to end up as on these things. Although I think I pretty much knew I was going to be Alex. The other ones all involved violence or being old, all the same, I still feel it's a pretty accurate description of me :)

Despite the fact that both of them kept their tops on, that scene was infinitely deeper and more sexy than the engine room scene taking place around about the same time. I love you so much!!!!!!!!

I was messing around with my userinfo I just read it - your are hilarious and I get a mention!!!! Yay me, I'm quite fond of me!!!!!

'Everything you feel, everything you know, you found it on your favourite TV show' seemed quite fitting for the content of my journal :) Where else are you meant to learn anything? My Medschool year book quote (and we only have one 'year' book for some reason even though we are there for 6 years) was "I learnt that from ER/The X-Files" (and I have to tell you that I answered my an exam question and though 'Thank you John Carter')

and I get a mention!!!! Yay me, I'm quite fond of me!!!!! - I'm quite fond of you too. And I get a mention in your userinfo. It's only fair :)

"I learnt that from ER/The X-Files" - That is a brilliant quote to have immortalised for all time in your yearbook. I bet it's the coolest one in there!

People keep telling me this lately. Must be in a funny mood. No you are consistently hilarious (just like I am always freaken' adorable)

I'm quite fond of you too. Well at least it's not just limited to Me, my mum and FFM - in fact I am positively popular!!!

That is a brilliant quote to have immortalised for all time in your yearbook. I bet it's the coolest one in there! Of course it's the coolest - I should also point out that I was thought to be Most Likely To......Develop the technology that would allow TV signals to be beamed directly into the human brain

No you are consistently hilarious - You'd better watch, my head is big enough and will only increase in size with this flattery.

in fact I am positively popular!! - That you are :)

Most Likely To......Develop the technology that would allow TV signals to be beamed directly into the human brain - Now, that is something to be proud of.

Now, that is something to be proud of. Should I ever achieve it - you will be the first person I call.
