What I think I love most about this is honestly the way you write Cersei. She is a ridiculously complicated character -- honestly made even more so by the way the show portrayal varies slightly from the book and how that tinges everyone's perception of her -- but you capture her SO WELL. She's seductive, obsessive, vain, and capable of being so fucking cruel, and all of it's here. The start of the final scene where she's having Cara go down on her and neither of them is enjoying it but it has to happen anyway because Cersei wants to remind Cara what she's FOR -- that's so EXACTLY the character that it felt like, "Oh, hi there you crazy bitch, you. :D" Amazing job.
And even though I'd never seen the show, I knew just enough about Legend of the Seeker to realize that Cara makes perfect sense as a Lannister the moment my friend mentioned it; but now I've obviously got to reread it with actual perspective on Kahlan. Should be interesting. (And will probably increase the woobiness factor x10?) I will say though that it's impressive that you managed to create a bastard even more tragic and angsty than Jon Snow and still make her endearing.
