“I’m scared of moths,” she admits.

Another pause.

“I didn’t think you were scared of anything.”
Contented sigh. For Terri does rule!!!!

Babe, I can only imagine the psychological trauma this has caused the ducks.

The E/T+Q thing is from Glitter. E and T have kind of become surrogate parents to Quinn. (Except that T and Q sort of flirt with each other, it's disturbing.) This is an extension of that.

in my mind it has totally gone off in a whole different tangent - Yep. That tangent happens all the time on Glitter.

To be fair, there was no characterisation required for this. Therefore, I haven't actually written them ;)

But I'm glad you liked it nonetheless.

Terri rules all. (Maybe she was just making up the moth thing to make Emma feel better.)

Just so you know I am crazy AND fabulous!

That was never in question. But you seemed to bring it up a bit randomly ;)

in my head this is happening inside and in the daytime!!!! - Well, of course it is! Otherwise it wouldn't make sense :)

You know how I feel about cowboy hats...

And whenever I write these two, things seem to get dirty reeeeeeeally quickly. I don't even know why, especially with me holding the view that the Agron is an innocent little dove.

Babe, I can only imagine the psychological trauma this has caused the ducks. They are going to need extensive therapy now!!!!!!

The E/T+Q thing is from Glitter. E and T have kind of become surrogate parents to Quinn. I kinda gather that :)

Except that T and Q sort of flirt with each other, it's disturbing. And now I feel sick. The ducks and I both need help.

And now I feel sick. The ducks and I both need help. - And so does Emma. She is thoroughly disturbed by it. (Which is mostly why they do it.)

Well, obviously I thought about it!!! But it's not like either of them needed to speak or do much. Therefore it could sort of be any two people.

That was never in question. But you seemed to bring it up a bit randomly ;) I'm sure I had a very good reason at the time. Have no idea now. May have been sick brain or stupid neurotic BCR related craziness.

Well, of course it is! Otherwise it wouldn't make sense :) Hee that is one of my fav Spike/Dru moments.

They haven't been doing it so much lately. At this very moment in time, Terri is holding a heat pad to Quinn's back and touching her stomach.

Cara/emo!Kahlan ~ Hunting

[identity profile] the-girl-20.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Something’s not right. That much is clear. Kahlan hasn’t been herself since the Wizard’s spell went wrong and left her behind. She seems to feel more than usual. Which is an achievement in itself. It is tiring to watch her. Cara needs a break from it. She stands up.

“I’m going hunting. We need meat.”

Kahlan stands too.

“I’ll come with you.”

Cara looks at her in confusion and sees that Richard is doing the same.

“Kahlan...you never go hunting with Cara,” he says, slowly.

Kahlan’s brow creases slightly, right above her nose.

“But I should. It’s not fair that Cara does all the hard work.”

“I hunt alone,” Cara says, thoroughly unwilling to be left by herself with Kahlan while she is...as she is.

“Not today,” Kahlan says, smiling brightly and linking her arm with Cara’s.

Richard gasps slightly as Cara looks down at their joined arms. Cara hides a smirk, he probably thinks she’s going to cut Kahlan’s arm off at the shoulder. Six months ago, perhaps. Now she settles for fixing Kahlan with a withering glare. A glare that has been known to make even the toughest Mord’Sith weep and beg for mercy. Kahlan just smiles at her.

“Oh Cara, for someone who claims not to have feelings, you really do have the most expressive face,” Kahlan observes, before reaching out and tweaking Cara’s nose. “I think it’s sweet.”

Cara’s sure that Richard is about to faint. She’s feeling slightly woozy herself. Which is the only excuse for the next words out of her mouth.

“Fine, let’s go.”

And she starts walking, Kahlan still clinging happily to her arm. Kahlan talks as they walk but Cara isn’t really listening. She’s concentrating on not being affected by Kahlan’s touch, or Kahlan’s voice, or Kahlan’s hair. She definitely does not have any feelings about any of these things. None. Whatsoever.

She’s jolted out of her musings when Kahlan comes to an abrupt halt, which means that Cara does too, on account of their linked arms.

“Are you going to answer my question?” Kahlan demands.

Cara tries to think back but cannot even begin to guess what Kahlan is talking about. But she cannot admit this and therefore must come up with some answer that will placate Kahlan. She decides to take a chance.

“I was just giving the question the due consideration it deserves. But my answer is...yes.”

Kahlan’s eyes light up in a way that terrifies Cara. She doesn’t have long to think about it because Kahlan is suddenly in her arms and is kissing her. Quite thoroughly. Cara briefly thinks she should perhaps pull away from the kiss. She is, after all, sworn to serve Lord Rahl. She’s almost certain that kissing his true love does not count as servitude. But, as Kahlan’s tongue seeks entry to her mouth, all thoughts of Richard are banished and Cara surrenders completely to the sensation of kissing the Mother Confessor.

Just as she thinks she might die from the feeling, and from lack of air, Kahlan pulls away, panting and bright eyed, grinning widely at Cara.

“Oh, Cara, I’m so glad you love me too!” she says, placing her hands on either side of Cara’s face.

Cara’s eyes go wide and she gasps. That was Kahlan’s question? Cara makes a mental note to listen more carefully in future.

“Well...I certainly li-“ she starts, but Kahlan is not listening.

“Of course, Richard will be devastated. But I’m sure he’ll come round to the idea sooner or later. And I do believe that Zedd already suspects something, because you, my dear, are not at all subtle in the way you look at me.”

Cara’s mouth falls open but Kahlan is already changing the subject.

“You know...I don’t have my powers...meaning that I can’t confess you during...well, I mean...if we were to...be intimate,” she says, a slight blush colouring her pale cheeks. She looks up at Cara through her lashes. “Would you like to be intimate with me, Cara?”

Cara thinks she feels something inside her head explode. But her vocal chords appear to still be working because she can hear her own voice, far away.

“My answer is...yes.”

Kahlan’s smile grows even wider and Cara’s last conscious thought before Kahlan pounces on her is that they’ll need to come up with some sort of excuse for returning with no meat after such a long hunting trip.

Emma/Terri + Abby, Nightmare

[identity profile] the-girl-20.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Terri?"

How she hears the tiny voice through the fog of sleep is beyond her, but she does. She opens her eyes and the light coming in from the hallway is enough for her to see a little figure standing by the bed, rubbing her eyes and sniffling.

"Hey honey, what's wrong?" Terri asks, keeping her voice low and soothing as she props herself up on an elbow and holds out her other arm.

Abby walks forward and buries her face in Terri's neck. Terri holds her tightly.

"I had a bad dream and Mommy isn't there," Abby mumbles.

"Mommy's gone to visit Aunt Rachel this weekend, remember?" Terri says, pulling away to look at Abby's face. "You wanna get in with us for a little bit, until you're feeling better?"

Abby sniffs, then nods. Terri lifts the edge of the cover and Abby clambers in and snuggles into Terri's body.

"Is Memma sleeping?" she asks.

"Yeah, sweetie, so we'll be really quiet, okay?"

Terri feels a hand on her back.

"No, Mmmawake."

The bed shifts and Emma rests her chin on Terri's shoulder, reaching over her to stroke Abby's cheek.

"Hey sweetie, you had a bad dream?" Emma asks, softly.

"Uh huh," Abby says, her lip starting to tremble again.

"You wanna tell us what it was about?" Terri asks, brushing Abby's hair off her brow.

"Barney was chasing me."

"Barney the dinosaur?" Terri clarifies.

"Uh huh."

"Barney's nice," Emma says.

"It was just Barney's bones," Abby explains.

Terri half turns and raises her eyebrows at Emma. Ever since Rachel and Quinn took Abby to the Museum of Natural History she's had a preoccupation with bones.

"Sweetie, we've talked about this, the bones you saw can't move, okay? And Barney is a friendly dinosaur." Emma says.

The memory of Abby's nightmare is obviously fading as she is busy twirling a strand of Terri's hair around her finger.

"Uh huh, okay," she agrees, easily. "Can I feel the baby move now?"

Emma smiles at the abrupt change of subject, having become used to it by now.

"I think she's asleep, sweetie, she's not really moving much right now," Emma says, turning onto her back anyway.

Terri reaches over and switches on the bedside lamp as Abby climbs over the top of her to get in the middle. Terri turns and takes the little girl's hand, placing it gently on the underside of Emma's prominent baby bump. After a few seconds, there's a distinct movement and Abby squeaks.

"She moved!"

Terri kisses the top of Abby's head, her eyes meeting Emma's. They share the same smile they always do. One of happiness and relief and gratitude that they've been blessed. It's been a long time coming. Emma's hand comes to rest over Terri's, squeezing softly.

"She did, honey," Emma confirms. "I think she kicked just for you. She's excited to meet you."

Abby looks up with serious eyes.

"Memma, I hopes she doesn't kick me when she meets me, cuz my mommy says that kicking people is bad, even if they're a booger-face who steals your apple."

Terri dips her head to hide her laughter while Emma struggles to maintain her composure.

"Well, your mommy is right, sweetie," she starts. "And I'm sure the baby won't kick you when she meets you. She's kicking right now because that's the only way she has of talking to you."

Abby nods, her face solemn. She leans closer to Emma's belly.

"Hello baby, I can't wait to meet you. But you gotsta stop kicking my Memma cuz that's not nice."

She leans in and kisses the bump and Emma and Terri both find themselves battling tears rather than giggles. Abby is oblivious as she yawns and crawls on top of Terri, snuggling in and closing her eyes.

"I'm just gonna stay in this bed tonight", she announces, her voice already fading.

Terri looks over at Emma.

"I swear her mother's got her trained to do this," she whispers, frowning.

Emma just reaches over and takes Terri's hand, bringing it back to her stomach.

"We need to get used to this, one goes to sleep just as the other one wakes up," she says, pressing Terri's hand against the tiny tremors running through her abdomen.

Terri smiles.

"I can't wait."
